A portion of each registration benefits the Floyd and Delores Jones Cancer Institute at Virginia Mason Medical Center. Participants may also make a pledge to help create a better future for people living with cancer.

The Cause
Cancer can strike anyone from the small child with leukemia to the many men diagnosed with prostate cancer later in life. Funds raised through the VM Team Medicine Seafair Marathon directly support Virginia Mason's ability to pursue the latest in research and technology in the fight against cancer.

Dedicate your Run or Walk
Support your family members and friends who are cancer survivors or are battling the disease. Purchase a ribbon for a suggested donation of $10 to wear during your race, expressing your support for a loved one. Ribbons will be available at the registration area during the Health and Fitness Expo. All money raised will benefit The Floyd and Delores Jones Cancer Institute at Virginia Mason Medical Center.

TARA WHITE
Running for the future
Growing up, my dad helped, encouraged, and supported me in everything I did. He read to me. He played basketball and softball with me. He ran races with me. When he came to my games and track meets, the crowd would greet him with “There’s Tara’s dad.” He even had tee-shirts made for himself that said “Tara’s Dad.” Everyone knew he was my biggest fan. He always told me I could be anything, do anything. And I believed him.

Running for a Remedy
Like many others, I have experience with people who have had cancer, my grandfather, two of my good friends, and my mother-in-law. This is why I'm running in this race. I want to know that what I am doing will support a great cause, like the Floyd and Delores Cancer Research Institute.
