Get More Productive with A Faster Windows XP

A slow PC should be a thing of the past. In this day of innovations and technology, having a slow computer will give you the idea of living through ancient times. Bcause of this that people always try to look for ways to speed up their computers.

If you are experiencing this, then you just came to right place. Its true that there are several ways involve in speeding up a PC. But then again, these easy things are worth a try.

Here is some of the tweaking I did to speed up my Windows:

> Getting bored with the menu delays is really annoying. Decrease the time to load menu transitions through right clicking your desktop. Select Properties and Click the Effects tab. Unmark the Animate windows menu lists. For Windows XP users, this can be done by right-clicking on the desktop, clicking Properties, selecting the Appearance tab, clicking the Effects option and deselect Use the following transition effects for menus and tooltips, then Click OK.

> Speed up Windows Start Up by removing out the applications you dont use at start-up. For those who use Windows 98, this could be done through going to Start and clicking Run. Then enter MSConfig.exe and then choose OK. select the Start up tab then unmark the applications you wish to stopthrough the startup. As you see, you may be able to speed start up Windows if you lessen the programs and applications that your PC needs to run.

> Defragment also helps to speed up your PC. search for the defragement option on the System Tools. Make sure that you dedicate a time for defragging. Operating various software as the same time as defragging confines the process itself.

> Choosing to install your programs would be best if you usually encounter script and other minor errors. Always scan your PC for viruses before backing up any files. Also, make sure that you have a copy of your hardware drivers and program installers before trying to delete the contents of your hard drive Reinstalling your application could run for as long as an hour or more.

> This is a very basic tip that you should regularly do: Remove any unused programs. Software, whether you are using them or not, take up space in your hard disk. If you arent utilizing them, then is there still a need to keep them?
