Marathon Team Relay

FIRST TECH CREDIT UNION CORPORATE TEAM RELAY !
Gather friends, family, co-workers, neighbors or complete strangers for a four-person team relay. Relay legs will be divided into sections. The team relay provides both the recreational and elite runner with an opportunity to engage in some friendly competition.

Corporations, non-profit groups and civic organizations are encouraged to assemble and compete. Relay team captains are responsible for registering their teams. Relay team must register online. Communication with teams will occur through the team captain. Designate a team captain and let the fun begin!

Distances: Relay team members run the same course as the marathon field. Two or three member teams are allowed. Distances are as follows:

RELAY POINT LEG STARTING MILES
Point #1 First 0 mile 6.55 miles
Point #2 Second 6.55 mile 13.1 miles
Point #3 Third 13.1 mile 19.65 miles
Point #4 Fourth 19.65 mile 26.2 miles

Relay Shuttle Buses: Transportation will be provided by First Student from the Bellevue Downtown Park finish location to all relay exchange points. Transportation from all relay points back to the Downtown Park will be available throughout the event. The relay shuttles are optional but strongly encouraged due to traffic congestion during the event. You may choose to arrange your own transportation.

Chip Timing: All relay legs will be chip timed via a chip worn around the ankle. The timing chip, attached by a velcro strap around the ankle, will serve as the transferable piece from runner to runner. Upon crossing the timing mat, one team member will take off the timing chip and pass it along to the next team member.

Categories: Relay teams will have the option to compete in the following categories:

  • Male
  • Female
  • Coed
  • Corporate
  • High Schools

The first place team from each division will receive four ticketst to the Chevrolet Cup August 1-3, 2008. Awards will be provided to team based on the aveage age of all team members in the following age divisions:

  • 29 & under
  • 30-49
  • 50+

The top three corporate teams and high school teams will be given awards based on finish times. No age division awards for corporate and high school teams.
